Slurpin' Snakes
Red-Shouldered Hawk ~ (Buteo Lineautus)
I looked out the window to my backyard. Just past our yard there is a small field with lots of wild grass where I do a lot of my macro photography. There I saw a Red-Shouldered Hawk perched and looking intensely down at the ground. It was clear it had its eye on something. I ran to my office, awkwardly changed camera lenses and changed my settings. When I got outside the hawk had moved and was scarfing down a snake. I managed to get off a few clicks before the hawk slurped down the last of the serpent and flew off to new hunting grounds.
