Green Anole
Green Anole ~ Anolis carolinensis
I was out in a field near my home looking for insects with my macro rig when I saw this tiny Green Anole on a leaf. It cooperated for a closeup before scurrying off.
I admit, I tend to overlook lizards when I am out in nature since they are so abundant here. I tend to try and "filter" out their movements in pursuit of birds or insects. Moments like this remind me of how much beauty they hold - and how much beauty is around us on a daily basis in nature.
The Green Anole is the only native Florida anole.
